Chosen 2013
"Best Self-Produced CD"

Annie Mack's Baptized in the Blues CD was chosen from a field of five contestants by a panel of fifteen judges to represent Minnesota in the 2014 International Blues Challenge "Best Self-Produced CD" competition in Memphis, TN.

All of the contestants submitted exceptionally high quality products for this year's competition. The other four entrants were: Mark Cameron, One Way Ride To The Blues, Crankshaft & the Gear Grinders, What You Gonna Do?, Little Bobby Houle, Life of the Blues and Dave Lambert, Broken Wings.

Overall, Annie Mack ranked highest with Mark Cameron taking second highest. Of the five criteria for judging the competition, Annie Mack ranked highest in Musical Performance and Audio Quality of Presentation. Little Bobby Houle ranked highest in Blues Content. Crankshaft ranked highest in Cover Art & Design and Credits & Liner Information.

I wish to thank all of the judges and the contestants for participating in the 2013 competition. We will begin accepting submissions for the 2014 Competition immediately. — Jake Jacobson

Annie Mack's
Baptized in the Blues
Advances to 2nd Round In
"Best Self-Produced CD"
@ IBC in Memphis

We are pleased to announce that Annie Mack's Baptized in the Blues CD has advanced to the second round of judging in the 2014 International Blues Challenge "Best Self-Produced CD" competition in Memphis, TN.

The CD has also received a favorable review in the December issue of Living Blues Magazine and has been nominated for a "Jimi" Award for "Best Soul R&B Release" by Blues 411. Congratulations to Annie and the band for the well-deserved recognition. All this plus a trip to the IBC in January and a new baby on the way. Wow! — Jake Jacobson
